Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IGF-BP3. Anti-Human IGF-BP3-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human IGF-BP3 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human IGF-BP3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human IGF-BP3 (500-P230Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IGF-BP3.
Western Blot: To detect Human IGF-BP3 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human IGF-BP3 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
IGFBP3 is a gene that belongs to the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) family. The gene encodes a protein that contains both an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. This protein is known to form a ternary complex with insulin-like growth factor acid-labile subunit (IGFALS) and either insulin-like growth factor (IGF) I or II. The complex circulates in the plasma and prolongs the half-life of IGFs while also altering their interaction with cell surface receptors. Various isoforms of the gene have been identified through alternate transcriptional splice variants. Diseases associated with IGFBP3 include Insulin-Like Growth Factor I and Acid-Labile Subunit Deficiency.
