Immunocytochemical staining of NR2F1 in HeLa cells using NR2F1 Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-57133) at a 1:1,1000 dilution. Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; NR2F1 was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor® 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. Protein abundance based on laser Intensity and smart gain: Medium. Scale bar: 20 μm.

The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor and transcriptional regulator. The encoded protein acts as a homodimer and binds to 5'-AGGTCA-3' repeats. Defects in this gene are a cause of Bosch-Boonstra optic atrophy syndrome (BBOAS).
