SMG5 Antibody (A302-804A) in IP
Detection of human SMG5 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from Jurkat cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-SMG5 antibody (Product # A302-804A) used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. SMG5 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-SMG5 antibody BL10177, which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated SMG5, BL10177 was used at 1 µg/mL,. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Target Information
SMG5 plays a role in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. SMG5 does not have RNase activity by itself. SMG5 promotes dephosphorylation of RENT1. SMG5 is necessary for TERT activity.SMG5 is involved in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (Ohnishi et al., 2003 [PubMed 14636577]).[supplied by OMIM].
