Detection of T7-tagged protein by western blot. Samples: 200, 100, or 50 ng of E. coli whole cell lysate expressing a multi-tag fusion protein. Antibodies: Affinity purified, rabbit anti-T7 antibody (Product # A190-117A) used for WB at 0.04 µg/mL (1:25,000). Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Rabbits were immunized with T7 (MASMTGGQQMG) conjugated to KLH. Antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using the peptide immobilized on solid support.
Target Information
The T7 Tag is an 11 amino acid peptide derived from the bacteriophage T7 major capsid protein, gene 10. T7 cleavage site: MASMTGGQQMG. Epitope tags provide a method to localize gene products in a variety of cell types, study the topology of proteins and protein complexes, identify associated proteins, and characterize newly identified, low abundance or poorly immunogenic proteins when protein specific antibodies are not available.
