Editor’s Note: This is the first of three articles about our video series for Mineral Beneficiation Plants
In this animated video, you’ll be introduced to integrated solutions for samplers and analyzers in the Cleaner circuit of mineral beneficiation plants.
Mineral beneficiation is the process of extraction of value-bearing minerals from their ores. You’ll see how the feed, middlings and tailings of the cleaner circuit are sampled for on-line elemental or particle size analysis.
- Dedicated analyzers are committed to the most critical process streams while providing accurate and reliable metallurgical accounting samples.
- Multistream analyzers are used for less critical process streams or when the process dynamics are such that more frequent assay updates are not required for control purposes.
Particle Size analysis is used on the Regrind Mill product so that the regrind mill can be controlled to keep the grind particle size distribution within the optimum range for best economic operation of the cleaner circuit.
Accurate and reliable particle size measurement enables the implementation of a grinding control strategy that can minimize energy wasted in over-grinding while maximizing grade and reducing the circulating load of gangue in the cleaner circuit caused by under-grinding. When the Cleaner Regrind product must be fed to two parallel banks of Rougher flotation cells it is possible to integrate a distributor into the feed sampler. In addition to evenly dividing the single incoming process stream into two separate process streams the distributor control valves provide the option of isolating one flotation bank so it can be taken out of service for maintenance without shutting down the entire cleaner section.

Thuts great, to my side as a Sales & Service Engineer, am now thinking of exploring this to other mines in my country Zimbabwe through selling on behalf of Thermo Fisher. and how do I go about it.
