Women in Microscopy Breakfast

About the speaker:

Melanie Ohi is a Professor at the Life Sciences Institute and Dept. of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan. Over the course of her scientific career she has focused on trying to understand how large molecular complexes organize and function.  Her research combines molecular electron microscopy with complementary structural, biochemical, biophysical and genetic methods. Melanie holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Pacific Luther University in Tacoma, WA; a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Vanderbilt University and was a Jane Coffin Childs Postdoctoral Fellow and Harvard Medical School.
