Custom gene synthesis: production times
Typical production times are shown for complex and non-complex sequences in the table below. Sequence complexity is determined automatically when designing constructs online and takes into consideration several factors including GC-content, sequence repeats, homopolymers, and secondary structure.

Formats of custom gene constructs
Synthetic genes are provided as clones in the customer vector of choice to allow for flexibility depending on downstream application. The final plasmid is shipped vacuum dried in 2 mL tubes and ready to resuspend in water or an appropriate buffer. The standard delivery amount is 5 µg, however, scaled-up plasmid preparations are available as an add-on service if ready-to-use plasmid DNA is desired.
De novo genes synthesized by GeneArt Services can be cloned into a standard shuttle vector, pMX, or a variety of popular vectors.
The vector onboarding option is useful when the gene synthesis vector selection tool does not include your desired vector, or if you need a synthesized gene delivered in your own vector.
