Efficiently resolve oligosaccharides released from therapeutic glycoproteins differing in size, charge, branching, and linkage with the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ CarboPac™ PA100 Analytical & Guard Columns. It provides the flexibility to separate oligosaccharides into broad classes depending upon the degree of sialylation, while maintaining the resolution needed for routine analysis based on linkage isomerism. Coupled with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD), this high-resolution, strong anion-exchange column supports detection at low-picomole levels for enhanced chromatography of oligosaccharides.
The resin of Dionex CarboPac PA100 Columns consists of 5.5μm diameter nonporous beads covered with a fine layer of functionalized Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ MicroBead™ latex. This pellicular resin structure permits excellent mass transfer, resulting in high-resolution chromatography and rapid re-equilibration. The 3 x 250mm format provides fast separations, and the 0.5mL/minute recommended flow rate results in significant savings in eluent consumption.

Predictable, High-Resolution Separations
  • Separates closely related oligosaccharides, even isomers, at picomole levels
  • Separates neutral and charged oligosaccharides in the same run
  • Requires no sample derivatization for detection

Use the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ CMD™ Carbohydrate Membrane Desalter on line prior to fraction collection to provide easy, automated removal of eluent salts.

About the Dionex CarboPac Family of Columns

The Dionex CarboPac family offers a selection of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) columns, each optimized for a different class of compounds. Combined with PAD, which provides a means to detect carbohydrates without derivatization, these columns support simple, reliable techniques to separate sugar alcohols, mono- and disaccharides, and poly- and oligosaccharides.

Dionex CarboPac columns provide high-resolution separations of:

  • Glycoprotein oligosaccharides and complex carbohydrates from dietary fiber, including fructans, maltodextrins, and amylopectins
  • Monosaccharides, such as those obtained from glycoprotein hydrolysates or plant hydrolysates
  • Mono- and disaccharides
