General description

• G418 sulfate (geneticin) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic isolated from Micromonospora rhodorangea
• G418 is a bacteriostatic that prevents polypeptide formation by inhibiting the elongation step of polypeptide synthesis


Applications

• G418 sulfate can be used for selection of genetically engineered cells in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes
• Laboratory grade for applications such as biochemistry
