Applications
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is used as a complexing agent for many cations. It prevents metal ion impurities and used to remove excess iron from the body. It acts as a sequestering agent in cosmetic products.

Solubility
Soluble in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, ammonia solution, acid and common organic solvents. Slightly soluble in water.

Stable. Incompatible with copper, copper alloys, nickel, aluminum, strong oxidizing agents and strong bases.
