Solubility
Soluble in water, ethanol and concentrated sulfuric acid. Slightly soluble in ethyl ether and acetone. Insoluble in chloroform, olive oil, carbon tetrachloride, xylene, molten camphor, liquid ammonia and benzene.

Incompatible with oxidizing agents, amines and strong bases.
