Applications
Potassium hexafluorophosphate is used to prepare 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexaflurorphospahte and other organic hexafluorophospahte compounds such as alkylaryliodonium hexafluorophopahtes and triarylsulfonium hexafluorophosphates. It is also used in the cationic polymerization reactions as photo initiators. It involves in producing catalyst for peptide coupling reactions.

Soluble in water.

Hygroscopic. Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with strong acids and oxidizing agents.
