Catechol Violet is used as a complexometric indicator dye. It inhibits the synthesis of globin in reticulocyte lysates. It is also used as a pH indicator with a transition interval from 0 to 8.

Applications
Catechol Violet is used as a complexometric indicator dye. It inhibits the synthesis of globin in reticulocyte lysates. It is also used as a pH indicator with a transition interval from 0 to 8.

Solubility
Soluble in water, ethylene glycol, monomethyl ether and ethanol.

Notes
Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
