Description

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
Applications
Trimethylamine complexes of alane as precursors for the low-pressure chemical vapor deposition of aluminum. Trimethylamine was found to be unsuitable as an agent for differentiating between Lewis and Brpinsted sites because it is dissociatively adsorbed and is, therefore useful for the perturbing effects. Choline derivative manufactured from TMA are used in medication of liver disorders. Used directly as acid binder in the manufacture of Sulpha Drugs. Animal/poultry feed additive like choline chloride is manufactured from TMA. Used in the manufacture of alkyl quaternary ammonium salts. To manufacture Ion exchange Resins based on chloromethylated polystyrene.

Solubility
Easily soluble in water, also soluble in most organic solvents (such as methanol and ethanol).
