Elemental quantification of petroleum products requires advanced analytical calibrations to achieve accurate results. The Thermo Scientific™ PetroilQuant™ Calibration Package is a comprehensive analytical package specifically designed for this challenge. The PetroilQuant program facilitates quantitative analysis for up to 30 elements in automotive fuels, lubricants, heavy residual oils and wear metals in oils. Designed to work with a WDXRF spectrometer, the PetroilQuant Calibration Package is a cost effective solution for any laboratory dealing with petroleum products.
The PetroilQuant Calibration Package works in conjunction with the Thermo Scientific™ ARL™ PERFORM'X WDXRF Spectrometer and with the Thermo Scientific™ ARL™ OPTIM'X WDXRF Spectrometer which are calibrated for multiple elements of interest in a wide dynamic range from sub-ppm to high percentage levels:
Sulfur in gasoline and diesel fuels at ppm levels.
Sulfur in all manner of light and heavy distillates, from sub-ppm to 5% levels or higher.
Other crude oil elements of interest, such as vanadium (V) and nickel (Ni).
Trace levels of light-element contaminants such as chlorine (Cl), aluminum (Al) and silicon (Si) at ppm levels.
Blending control of fresh lubricants including Na, Mg, Si, P, Cl, K, Ca, Zn, Mo, Br and Ba.
Main Features
Developed with built-in knowledge and expertise to help the analyst deal with a variety of petroleum samples in wide concentration ranges.
Further refinement or fine-tuning for specific elements is available from factory application experts prior to instrument shipment, or after installation with user's own standards.
Provides a “ready to run” analytical package for beginners as well as advanced users of Thermo Scientific XRF instruments.
Offers a global calibration program which does not require many standards, much analytical expertise or instrument time.
PetroilQuant Calibration Package installed on the Thermo Scientific ARL PERFORM'X Series can cover up to 30 elements (Ag, Al, As, Ba, Bi,Br, Ca, Cd, Cl, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na,Ni, P, Pb, S, Sb, Si,Sn, Ti, Tl, V and Zn), and up to 22 elements on the Thermo Scientific ARL OPTIM'X WDXRF Spectrometer (Al, Ba, Ca, Cl, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Ni, P, Pb, S, Sb, Si, Sn, Ti, V, Zn). Stable Setting-Up Samples are also delivered to help maintain the calibration curves over time.
