N-Lauroylsarcosine is used for solubilization and separation of membrane proteins and glycoprotein's; reported to inhibit hexokinase. It is useful in concentrated salt solutions used in the cell lysis step during RNA purification (helps avoid excessive foaming). It has been used to indicate paramagnetic anisotropy sign change in micelle mesophage. Inhibits bacterial flora of human saliva/gut at 0.25% as well as acting as a fungi static agent in aqueous dispersion (1%).
This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
