Trichloroacetic acid, is traditionally used to precipitate protein. Has been used to determine protein concentration by quantitative precipitation. It is also used as a decalcifier and fixative in microscopy in protein sequencing, detecting albumin and organic synthesis. Solubility
Soluble in water (1200 mg/ml at 20°C), alcohol, ether, ethanol (very soluble), and carbon tetrachloride.

Notes
Store under nitrogen. Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep away from strong oxidizing agents, strong bases, smines.
