Nimesulide are used for the treatment of acute pain, the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis and primary dysmenorrhoea, . Nimesulide was as effective as paracetamol in reducing fever, local pain, and general discomfort. It was effective in reducing pain associated with osteoarthritis, cancer, thrombophlebitis, oral surgery in adults, otorhinolaryngological diseases and traumatic injury. Nimesulide is demonstrated to suppress azoxymethane-induced carcinogenesis.

Solubility
Soluble in water (<50 µg/ml), 1:10 DMSO:PBS (pH 7.2) (<200 µg/ml), ethanol (1 mg/ml), DMSO (15 mg/ml), DMF (15 mg/ml), chloroform, dichloromethane, acetone (freely soluble), and 1N NaOH.
