Potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in bacteria.Apramycin sulfate is used as a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in bacteria. It acts as an antibacterial agent. It is a useful biochemical for antibiotic and antibacterial research to study antibiotic resistance through protein synthesis inhibition by blocking translocation. It is also essential for clinic in vitro tests known as antimicrobial susceptibility tests to determine their efficacy against certain bacterial species.
