Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (100%), Rat (100%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-60031. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Adropin is involved in the regulation of glucose homestasis and lipid metabolism. It is a secreted protein encoded by the Energy Homeostasis Associated gene (ENHO) found in the brain and liver. In the liver, the protein has been found to increase in response to high-fat foods and decrease after fasting. The protein seems to play a role in controlling the activity of other metabolic genes, specifically those involved in the production of lipids from carbohydrates.
