Descripción

Tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate is used as a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis. It finds application as an electrolyte additive in the capillary electrophoretic separation of polyphenols found in grape seed extracts. It is also used to prepare other tetrabutylammonium salts in aqueous solutions. It is involved in the synthesis of conducting poly(thiophenes).

Aplicaciones
El tetrafluoroborato de tetraetilamonio se utiliza como catalizador de transferencia de fase en síntesis orgánica. Funciona como aditivo electrolítico en la separación capilar electroforética de los polifenoles que se encuentran en extractos de semillas de uva. También se utiliza en soluciones acuosas para preparar otras sales de tetrabutilamonio. Participa en la síntesis de la poli(tiofenos) conductores.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua, alcohol y acetonitrilo.

Higroscópico. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes.
