A cylindrical tube with a plunger that can be pulled or pushed along the inside of the tube, allowing the tube to take in or expel liquids or gases. It can be fitted with a hollow needle for injecting fluids. Syringes can be used for a variety of applications including injection of gases or liquids into chromatographs, chemical apparatus, and animals.
