Tetra-n-butylammonium hexafluorophosphate is used as a supporting electrolyte in nonaqueous electrochemistry. It is chemically inert, thereby allowing the usage as an inert electrolyte with potential range. It enhances the performance of single-layer organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).
