Determine common transition and lanthanide metals simultaneously in less than 11 minutes with the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ IonPac™ CS5A column. This is a high-resolution column designed for accurate determination of transition and lanthanide metals in a variety of sample matrices. The Dionex IonPac CS5A column, in combination with postcolumn derivitization for visible detection at 530nm, provides a sensitive and selective method for transition metal analysis.

Rapid, Routine Analysis of Transition and Lanthanide Metals in Diverse Samples
  • Sensitive and selective analysis of transition metals in combination with postcolumn derivitization and visible detection at 530 nm.
  • Unique bifunctional resin rapidly provides excellent selectivity for simultaneous determination of common transition and lanthanide metals.
  • Transition metals as well as aluminum are detected following complexation with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol (PAR).
  • Compatible with up to 50% organic solvents to enhance analyte solubility, modify column selectivity, and simplify column clean-up
Two Eluent Concentrates for Maximum Flexibility
  • Ready-to-dilute, high-purity eluent concentrates are available to easily optimize the Dionex IonPac CS5A column selectivity.
  • The MetPac PDCA eluent uses pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid as a strong complexing agent that separates the metal complexes by anion exchange. The PDCA eluent is best suited for the separation of iron (II) and iron (III), copper, nickel, zinc, cobalt, cadmium, and manganese.
  • The MetPac Oxalic Acid eluent uses oxalic acid as a moderate-strength complexing agent to separate metals by a mixed mode mechanism. The oxalate eluent separates lead, copper, cadmium, cobalt, zinc, and nickel.
Multiple Formats Available for Application Flexibility
  • 4 x 250mm, 2 x 250mm analytical columns
  • 4 x 50mm, 2 x 50mm guard columns
  • Longer 250mm columns facilitate higher resolution separations of more complex sample matrices
  • Smaller I.D. columns provide higher mass sensitivity, eluent and reagent conservation and lower operating costs
