Description

As a solvent, in Mannich reaction, as an electrolyte in batteries.1,3-Dioxolane is used as a solvent for paints, cellulose esters and in organic synthesis. It is used as an extragent for waxes, fats and oils, stabilizer for halogenated hydrocarbons and co monomer in polyacetals preparation. It is used as finishing agent and swelling agent in textiles. It acts as an intermediate for the preparation of acyclovir and vandetanib. It is an essential ingredient in industrial polymers. In polymerization reactions, it acts as a chain length regulator and a chain transfer agent.
