2-Nitrobenzylamine hydrochloride may be used in chemical synthesis studies. Also reactant involved in synthesis of tetrahydroisoquinolines via Heck-aza-Michael reactions, aminomethylphenylamine scaffolds for factor Xa inhibition, squaryliamides for mannosyltransferase inhibition and fluorescent two-photon absorption benzothiadiazole dyes.
