Description

Biosynthetic precursor to all steroids Squalene is used as a precursor to steroids and ergosterol and as an immunologic adjuvant in vaccines. It plays a vital role in the preparation of cholesterol, steroid hormones and vitamin D. It serves as a lubricant for fatty acid surfactant films adsorbed on iron oxide surfaces.
