Invitrogen
The monoclonal antibody bH6 is specific for a C3 neo-epitope expressed on the cleavage fragments of C3b, iC3b, and C3c, but not C3dg and C3f.
Complement C3 is a protein that plays a vital role in the immune system. It is a central component of the complement system, a group of proteins that work together to defend the body against infections. Complement C3 is produced by the liver and circulates in the blood. When an infection or injury occurs, complement C3 is activated and triggers a cascade of events that help to eliminate the invading pathogen or damaged tissue. However, abnormalities in complement C3 can also lead to autoimmune diseases and other health problems.
