Description:
Dionex AERS 500 e Anion Electrolytically Regenerated Suppressor for External Water Mode (4 mm)

With high-capacity, low noise, high backpressure resiliency, and fast startup, this new generation suppressor was designed for new demands in IC. The Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ ERS™ 500e Electrolytically Regenerated Suppressor for external water mode applications minimizes peak dispersion and improves peak efficiency, particularly when coupled with 4μm columns. This suppressors was developed in concert with the high efficiency 4μm ion-exchange columns, which use higher flow rates to achieve faster separations while retaining optimal resolution, or equivalent flow rates to achieve higher resolutions while retaining sample throughput.

This high-capacity suppressor serves virtually all analytical scale IC applications, for both anions and cations, and is available in 2mm and 4mm formats. The Dionex ERS 500e Suppressor accommodates isocratic or gradient use with carbonate (isocratic only) hydroxide, methanesulfonic acid, or sulfuric acid eluents in both the standard bore (4 mm) and microbore (2 mm) format.

Next-Generation Suppressor—Built for New Demands in IC Applications
  • Improved compatibility with hyphenated detection techniques, particularly mass spectrometry, because of its higher backpressure tolerance (leak free up to 900 psi, operates up to 200 psi)
  • Higher temperature tolerance (up to 80°C in transit and storage, 40°C for operation)
  • Full electrolytic regeneration without reagents allowing easier recoveries after operation without current due to its planar packed-bed suppression chamber
  • Low peak dispersion preserves peak shape efficiency of 4μm columns
  • High suppression capacity produces stable peak area values immediately after restart without the need for chemical regeneration
  • Low noise makes the suppressor suitable for trace analysis
Built for External Water Mode Applications
  • Reduced regenerant chamber backpressure for easy implementation of pressurized reservoir delivery.
  • Parallel regenerant flow to maximize regenerant sweep out for borate eluents and eluents containing solvents (up to 40%).
  • Can be used in the Chemical Regenerant Mode.
Improves Sensitivity for More Reliable Quantitation

When used with the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ CRD 300 Carbonate Removal Device, the Dionex ERS 500e Suppressor reduces background conductivity and noise, enhances analyte response, and improves sensitivity for more reliable quantitation with carbonate eluents.

Fundamental to Enabling Reagent-Free™ IC (RFIC™) Operation
  • Full regeneration without reagents

The Dionex ERS 500e suppressor is a direct replacements for the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ SRS™ 300 Self-Regenerating Suppressor.
