The HID NIMBUS Presto QNA System is an integrated automated liquid handling solution specifically scripted, optimized, and validated for use with Applied Biosystems forensic human identification (HID) purification, quantification, and STR amplification kits, which have been validated according to the Scientific Working Group for DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM, December 2016).

Purification

The HID NIMBUS Presto QNA System can precisely purify up to 96 nucleic acids from lysed samples in less than 90 minutes. With rapid processing and high-quality yields of even the most complex forensic sample types, including bone, tooth, and touch DNA, forensic labs can enjoy faster turnaround times with lasting confidence in results.

  • Purify more samples with less hands-on time—up to 96 samples in less than 90 minutes
  • Simple set-up and walk-away workflow
  • Minimal manual touchpoints to help reduce human error and contamination risk
  • Highly skilled forensic scientists can focus on more complex analyses
  • Easy-to-use software
  • High reproducibility
  • Minimal variation in each sample and run
  • Increased process standardization
  • Consistent, reliable, accurate results from a variety of forensically relevant sample types

Quantification setup

Cover more steps in the casework workflow with the optimized scripting and hands-free automated quantification setup. The HID NIMBUS Presto QNA System can prepare samples for quantification using the Quantifiler Trio Automated DNA Quantification Kit either on a QuantStudio 5 or a 7500 real-time PCR system.

  • Improved amplification efficiency
  • Fewer off-scale, over-amplified, or under-amplified samples
  • Reduced need for downstream reanalysis helps provide long-term cost savings
  • Key sample information to enable forensic workflow decisions
  • Conservation of sample through targeted downstream assay decisions

Normalization and amplification setup

The HID NIMBUS Presto QNA System can remove the manual normalization process by automatically calculating dilution protocol and normalizing DNA samples. Add automated amplification setup, and analysts to help reduce hands-on time and experience support, reliable, and accurate results from a variety of forensically relevant sample types.

Software

The internally designed software includes visualization guides for reagent positioning, guidance mode for step-by-step setup, short tutorial videos, and images of the work deck setup. Users can initiate purification, quantification setup, and amplification setup in just a few minutes.

  • Easily select workflows, kits, and input/output labware
  • Select from commonly used plate map templates or customize your own (and add to library)
  • Standard curves: 5 pt, 6 pt, or virtual
  • Visual cues and guidance mode to enable accurate and easy setup
For Criminal Justice and Forensic Use Only.
