Triethylamine induces visual disturbances (such as foggy vision) in humans, and is also used in industry as a quenching agent in the ozonolysis of alkenes (e.g. (E)-2-Pentene.

Solubility
Soluble in water at 20°C 1440 g/L. Soluble in ethanol, chloroform, and alcohol. Insoluble in ether.

Notes
Hygroscopic. Store away from water/moisture and oxidizing agents. Keep the container tightly closed and place it in a cool, dry and well ventilated condition. Store under inert gas. Protect from humidity.
