The fluorescent stain binds selectively to the phosphate moiety and binding is independent of the amino acid sequence context. Because it is a direct stain, you don't need expensive antibodies or radioisotopes. The Pro-Q Diamond Phosphoprotein Blot Stain Kit can be used to analyze the native phosphorylation state of proteins obtained from tissue specimens or from body fluids.
