Grow a wide variety of microorganisms with Thermo Scientific ™ Oxoid ™ Tryptone Soya Agar (Dehydrated). A general purpose agar medium containing two peptones, Tryptone Soya Agar supports the growth of both aerobes and anaerobes, the latter being grown either in deep cultures or by incubation under anaerobic conditions. Tryptone Soya Agar is recommended as a reference medium when testing selective media to measure the degree of inhibition1.
Tryptone Soya Agar, also known as Casein Soya Bean Digest Agar, is a general purpose medium specified in pharmacopoeia and food testing methods for the growth of a wide variety of organisms. The product is tested to the pharmacopoeia2, 3, 4, 5 and is mainly used as reference medium when testing selective media.
