Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (98%), Rat (98%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-139775. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The C-terminus of BTBD1 binds topoisomerase I. The N-terminus contains a proline-rich region and a BTB/POZ domain (broad-complex, Tramtrack and bric a brac/Pox virus and Zinc finger), both of which are typically involved in protein-protein interactions. Subcellularly, the protein localizes to cytoplasmic bodies. The C-terminus of the protein encoded by this gene binds topoisomerase I. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
