Carrier-Free
Reconstitution: We recommend that the vial be briefly centrifuged to bring the contents to the bottom prior to opening. Lyophilized recombinant human IGFBP-4 should be reconstituted in sterile PBS to 0.1-1.0 mg/mL to regain full activity. These stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at -20°C. Further dilutions should be made in medium or buffered solution containing carrier protein, such as PBS with 0.1% BSA.
Storage: Lyophilized human IGFBP-4 should be stored at 2-8°C, preferably desiccated. Store reconstituted human IGFBP-4 at -20°C (not in a frost-free freezer). Keep freeze-thaw cycles to a minimum.
This gene is a member of the insulin-like growth factor binding protein family and encodes a protein with an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. The protein binds both insulin-like growth factors I and II and circulates in the plasma in both glycosylated and non-glycosylated forms. Binding of this protein prolongs the half-life of the IGFs and alters their interaction with cell surface receptors.
