Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (52%), Rat (52%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-64134. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
MARCO, also known as SR-A6 or SCARA2, is a macrophage surface receptor and a member of the class A scavenger receptor family. As a part of the innate antimicrobial immune system, MARCO can bind both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria via an extracellular, C-terminal, scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domain. In addition to short cytoplasmic and transmembrane domains, there is an extracellular spacer domain and a long, extracellular collagenous domain. The protein may form a trimeric molecule by the association of the collagenous domains of three identical polypeptide chains. Due to its expression in tumor infiltrating macrophages, and its role in inhibiting immune responses within tumor environment, MARCO has been indicated as a potential target for cancer immunotherapy.
