Cesium (Cs)

Cesium (Cs)

Cesium ([Xe]6s1) (CAS 7440-46-2) is silvery-white, soft, and ductile. It has the lowest melting point of any alkali metal. Cesium reacts violently with water and due to its reaction with oxygen, and should be stored in the absence of air. Located in the lower left-hand corner of the periodic table, cesium is the most electropositive element and has the lowest ionization potential.
