Long-range PCR products are used to amplify long target lengths that standard PCR methods and reagents cannot amplify. The number of kilobases that a polymerase optimized for long-range PCR can amplify depends upon the complexity of the DNA template. These products include kits with dNTPs that provide high amplification for targets up to 20kB with little to no optimization.
