Battery CEC is designed to provide solutions that enable real-time, precise measurement of coating thickness and thickness of battery electrodes or separator films through advanced inline measurement and control systems based on Beta-ray, X-ray, Near-infrared, and confocal laser technologies.
The Battery Inline Measurement Solutions by Thermo Fisher Scientific is implemented with Roll-to-Roll equipment, providing an exceptional space for inline testing and research of electrodes and separator films. It enables customers to select the most reliable inline solution by unwinding prepared samples in roll units at specified speeds and simultaneously measuring and analyzing them with various sensors.
Thermo Scientific™ Beta Plus™ sensor provides accurate online measurement of weight and thickness in various inline measurement applications. The Beta Plus Basis Weight sensor is based on the principle of determining measurements by the absorption of beta particles emitted from Kr-85 or Sr-90 radiation sources into the measurement target, making it the most commonly applied product in this field.
Thermo Scientific™ X-ray Plus™ sensor provides accurate online measurement of weight and thickness in various inline measurement applications. It precisely measures the target using the X-ray absorption characteristics of the measurement target. This sensor performs precise high-resolution measurements over a wider range of weights or thicknesses compared to beta-ray methods.
Thermo Scientific™ PROSIS™ sensor is one of the most innovative solutions among various Thermo Scientific inline measurement products. The PROSIS sensor can be applied in both transmission and reflection modes, basing its measurement on the absorption of near-infrared by the measurement target. Specifically designed to accurately measure the thickness and weight of single and multi-layer products, the PROSIS sensor examines a wide range of near-infrared spectra.
Thermo Scientific™ Dual Confocal Laser sensor is an inline thickness measurement solution that applies the proven technology of confocal laser sensors in the market. With a compact C-frame design made of aluminum, it achieves fast scanning speed even in narrow installation spaces and can be configured with a combination of two units of frames to measure a wide range of targets.
