Easily perform spectral analysis on large objects, artwork, and paintings using the Thermo Scientific™ ConservatIR™ FTIR External Reflection Accessory. This accessory measures samples too large to fit into a Thermo Scientific™ Nicolet™ FTIR Spectrometer sample compartment. The articulated arm simplifies sample analysis for specular, diffuse and ATR measurements with the object in front, below or above the spectrometer sample compartment. The ConservatIR accessory comes standard with a specular/diffuse reflection sampling head, and a diamond ATR sampling head is available as an option.

Easily perform qualitative analysis of samples that are too large to fit within the Nicolet FTIR spectrometer sample compartment. Investigate paints, pigments, and other component materials of art objects such as sculptures, paintings, vases and more with the ConservatIR external reflection accessory for Nicolet FTIR spectrometers. Verify the authenticity of art objects before they go to auction or confirm the materials and processes needed for art restoration and conservation. 
 
The ConservatIR articulated opto-mechanical arm simplifies sample orientation to take a measurement. The arm contains an integrated camera that provides a magnified view and image capture of the sampled spot. The accessory fits into the sample compartment of a Nicolet FTIR spectrometer and measures samples oriented in front, above or slightly below the sample compartment. Applications include analysis of small or large samples via specular/diffuse reflection or ATR spectroscopy.

ConservatIR Accessory Features
