LB Broth and LB Agar
Luria-Bertani (LB) broth is the most widely used medium for the growth of bacteria (Bertani 1951 ). We offer LB media in powder and liquid formats, along with ready-to-use LB agar plates.
Only available in North America and selected European countries
Ready-to-use LB Agar Plates (LB Miller’s formulation) with glass beads. Convenient for immediate use, with a longer shelf life for flexibility and reduced waste.
Formulation per one liter:
- 10 g Casein peptone
- 5 g Yeast extract
- 10 g NaCl
- 15 g Agar

Gibco LB Broth, Liquid
Gibco LB Broth is based on the Lennox formulation, one of the most commonly used for LB medium.
Formulation per one liter:
- 10 g SELECT Peptone 140
- 5 g SELECT Yeast Extract
- 5 g Sodium Chloride
Each bottle of Gibco LB Broth is filter-sterilized and ready-to-use in ergonomic Gibco media bottles with angled openings for simplified pipetting.
