拡散性の液体の測定
、浮遊粒子を含む液体は、吸光度に加えて、肉眼では小さすぎて見えない粒子も、全波長で光を散乱します。 この散乱はビームを弱めるため、測定された透過率は分析のための「真」の値よりも低くなります (吸光度はより高くなります)。 従来のキュベットによる測定では、ビームから散乱する光のほとんどは、検出器に達しません。 サンプルの真後ろに積分球を有することで、前方散乱光のほぼすべてが積分球に入ります。積分球の中では、検出器で透過光として測定されるまで光が反射を繰り返します。 ISA-220 積分球を使用した拡散性の液体の測定は、シンプルなキュベット実験よりも、より正確で、より再現性があり、溶体の粒子サイズにより依存しなくなります。
拡散性の固体の測定
どの波長の光が素材を通過しますか？ UV 吸収コーティングまたは添加剤はどのくらい効果的ですか？ 積分球を使用せずに拡散性の固体を測定すると、物質を通過する光子のみを測定することになります。 その結果、全体的に低い透過率の測定値を得ることになります。 拡散性の高い素材では、誤差は 1,000 倍 にも大きくなることがあります！ どのくらいの光が本当に通過するのかを測定するために ISA-220 をご使用ください。
溶解しにくい固体
物質が一枚板である場合は、その電子吸収性を測定する唯一の方法は、光子をそれに反射させることです。 このようなケースでは、積分球が唯一の選択肢です。 全角度で反射された光は積分球によって取り込まれ、測定されます。 Thermo Scientific™ Evolution™ 220 用のThermo Scientific™ INSIGHT™ ソフトウェアは、電子構造の研究の簡素化するために、Kubelka-Munk で直接測定できます。 試料の色を測定する必要がある場合は、これも実行できます。 お客様が選択したカラースケールに適切な範囲を容易にスキャンし、Thermo Scientific™VISIONlite™ ColorCalc ソフトウェアを使用して、必要なカラーパラメータを計算できます。
粉末
ISA-220 粉末用セルホルダーを使用すると、わずか 0.5 cc のサンプル量で測定できます。 粉末用セルホルダーには、Spectralon のプラグが充填された対照セルと試料セルが付属します。これらのセルは、スプリングとピストンを用いた設計で、正確な測定をもたらすよう細かく砕かれた試料を丁寧に圧縮します。
