The Applied Biosystems MicroSEQ Microbial Identification Software is an integral part of the integrated workflow for the identification and classification of bacterial and fungal sequences for scientists working in a QC microbiology laboratory setting. The software is used to collect, analyze, and compare sequence data to the species level.
Identify and classify your bacterial or fungal sequence using the latest, feature-rich release of our tried-and-true analysis software, specifically designed for the Applied Biosystems SeqStudio family of genetic analyzers. The MicroSEQ Identification Software 4.0 allows users to leverage the advanced features of the SeqStudio systems while also helping meet regulatory requirements to enable 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

One of the keys to accurate microbial identification, and the engine driving MicroSEQ ID, is a robust and powerful database. We don't just collect data from other sources. We validate our own findings and confirm accuracy of all entries. The MicroSEQ ID System is built on meticulously curated collections of organisms—more than 12,000 strains—validated by our own scientists and collaborators using multiple techniques to enable accurate identification.
Validated
Thermo Fisher Scientific conducts a rigorous validation process for accurate taxonomic information of new and existing bacterial and fungal species. Ranging from sequence information entry, genus and species level validation, and revalidation of existing MicroSEQ library entries—all done by trained personnel—we offer one of the most comprehensive, accurate, reliable libraries available for your Pharma QC testing.
Curated
We closely evaluate our libraries and curate for what really matters to our pharma QC customers—quality and accuracy. We have increased the number of Candida, Cladosproium, Aspergillus, and added species for 223 new genera into our fungal database. We partner with the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute, part of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, for our latest, trusted sequence information for mycological identification and classification.
Updated
Increasing the power of this database, Thermo Fisher Scientific regularly updates the MicroSEQ ID Software Library. This helps ensure that your MicroSEQ ID database is up to date by providing periodic updates of quality checked and validated bacterial and fungal sequences
The MicroSEQ ID system provides one of the largest, most comprehensive set of validated libraries for bacteria and fungi
