The Thermo Scientific Pierce FlexMix Calibration Solution is a mixture of 16 highly pure, ionizable components (mass ranges: 50 to 3000 m/z) designed for both positive and negative ionization calibration using Orbitrap Tribrid Series 3.1 Instrument Control Software (or later) for Orbitrap Fusion, Orbitrap Fusion Lumos, and Orbitrap ID-X MS instruments.

Pierce FlexMix Calibration Solution features include:
Improved mass accuracy—extended mass range improves mass accuracy
Positive and negative mode calibration—single formulation with extended mass ranges for both ionization calibration modes
Highly validated—high-quality, rigorously-tested formulation with lot-specific certificates of analysis
Ready-to-use—reference standard may be directly loaded into a syringe and injected into the instrument
Stable—store at room temperature for up to 18 months (see CofA for specific expiration date of each lot)

The Pierce FlexMix Calibration Solution is a ready-to-use formulation that has been optimized for both positive and negative ionization calibration of instruments. The extended range masses (50 to 3000 m/z) improve sensitivity and mass accuracy of Orbitrap mass spectrometers. Additionally, the FlexMix Calibration Solution is manufactured at an ISO 9001 facility and each lot is quality controlled with strict specifications. The stable solution is provided in a leak-proof, high-purity PTFE bottle.

For the calibration procedure, use the Orbitrap Tribrid Series Getting Started Guide.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Both the Pierce FlexMix Calibration Solution and Pierce FlexMix Calibration Solution for Auto-Ready Mass Spectrometers have the same 16 components and produce the same spectra. However, the Pierce FlexMix Calibration Solution for Auto-Ready Mass Spectrometers has a different storage solution: LC-MS grade acetonitrilie 87% (v/v) and LC-MS grade water 13% (v/v). The FlexMix Calibration for Auto-Ready Mass Spectrometers is designed to be used only in mass spectrometer instruments with autocalibration feature, such as Orbitrap IQ-X Mass Spectrometer using Orbitrap Tribrid Series 3.5 Instrument Control Software (or later).
