NanoDrop Microvolume Spectrophotometers and Fluorometers Software Updates

Registration is a one-time process that allows you to receive alerts when new software is available for your instrument, and helps verify your warranty status.

When you register, make sure to check the box allowing marketing emails from Thermo Fisher Scientific, as we cannot alert you to new updates without your permission.

The table lists the latest operating software versions available for your instrument. To check your current version, select System status (on your NanoDrop Ultra/Ultra^C/Ultra FL/Ultra^C FL, NanoDrop One/One^C or NanoDrop Eight instrument) or select Help > About from the menu in the software on your PC (for all other instruments).

Latest operating software for NanoDrop instruments

To download the latest version:

1. If your instrument is connected to a computer, disconnect the USB cable before downloading the software.
2. Click Download and fill out the form, including your model name and serial number.
3. Download the file(s) from the acknowledgement page that appears.

Once the file(s) are downloaded to your computer, come back to this page and refer to the appropriate section for installation instructions.

Because the NanoDrop Ultra spectrophotometers and fluorometers can be controlled from either its local touchscreen or from a connected PC, you will need to install software update files for both.

Important: To ensure data transfer and viewing, the software versions for local instrument and PC control must match. For example, if you are updating your local NanoDrop Ultra Operating and help software to version 1.0 (February 2025), make sure to update your PC control software to version 1.0 (February 2025) as well.

Install local control software on your NanoDrop Ultra/Ultra^C/Ultra FL/Ultra^C FL instrument via a USB drive or through an online update.

How to update the Thermo Scientific NanoDrop  NanoDrop Ultra/Ultraᶜ /Ultra FL/Ultraᶜ  FL UV-Vis Spectrophotometer Software HELP system files 

1. NanoDrop Ultra Spectrophotometers and Fluorometers come with a Help section in the default English language, you can download a non-English HELP system file to a USB device and follow the instructions below to install.
2. Only one additional language will be stored in the software at a time. If a third language is installed, the non-English language will be replaced when the third language is installed. 

NanoDrop Ultra HELP system file (March 2025)

Through USB:

1. Insert the USB device containing the downloaded .zip file into any USB port on the NanoDrop Ultra/Ultra^C/Ultra FL/Ultra^C FL instrument or to a computer with the NanoDrop Ultra PC control software.
2. From the home screen, select the Help  icon from the navigation pane.
3. Select the Language  icon.
4. Select Install other language.
   • Select an available language from the drop-down menu.
   • Select Install.
5. When the installation is complete, select the radio button next to the newly installed language option and select Save. 

Through Online Update:

1. From the instrument home screen, tap the Settings icon, then Software Update.
2. Select Update in the row with "Online update" as the source to install the latest available version of software.
   1. When the installation is complete, the message Update complete appears. Tap OK.
   2. The screen will prompt you to restart the instrument. Tap OK.
   3. If you downloaded a non-English help system, repeat steps 4–7 with the alternate help system to install it.

(Optional) Install a custom method on your NanoDrop Ultra/Ultra^C/Ultra FL/Ultra^C FL instrument via a USB drive.

To install or update NanoDrop Ultra software on a PC

1. After downloading the PC control software as described in the table above, double-click the filename and follow the prompts to install it.
2. Launch Start.exe and click Install. The software installer will run.
