Acoustic focusing and a high-speed camera result in rich data detail

Sample data across a wide range of applications shows how acoustic-assisted hydrodynamic focusing technology allows researchers to process more sample types—including large clumpy cells and samples with low cell concentrations—more quickly and accurately than before. The high-speed camera in the Attune CytPix Flow Cytometer enables a variety of new applications that combine cell morphology data from imaging with multiplexed protein expression data from cytometry.

Phytoplankton singlet identification in marine micro organisms

With the CytPix cytometer, you can capture 6,000 images per second and use an AI image analysis model for easy singlet discrimination. The CytPix cytometer can recognize one event or more events per image and categorize them automatically within a parameter—allowing for more accurate gating to count single individuals (singlets) compared to manual gating. The model enables you to examine shape, size and surface feature differences—unveiling morphological differences within a monoculture.

  • Fast analysis: reduce sample preparation by using Attune CytPix high-throughput image capture and image analysis
  • Reliable data: achieve accurate population quantification and confirm gating strategy using morphology with brightfield imaging
  • Label-free identification: combine auto-fluorescent signals from chlorophyll and image-based parameters to resolve populations

Phytoplankton singlet gating and morphology analysis using AI on Attune CytPix flow cytometer images. After gating single diatoms in Particle Count parameter, bivariate plots with Circularity and MajorDiameter parameters assist in quantification of circular and rod-shaped and elongated, bilaterally symmetrical diatoms cell. Sample: Pennate Diatoms strain CCMP2748, originally collected from tide crack in fast ice near Cape Evans, Ross Island Antarctica.
