Invitrogen Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) is a useful expression label that can be excited by the 488 nm or 532 nm laser line. It is optimally detected at 584 nm for flow cytometry and imaging applications. RFP is a versatile biological marker for monitoring physiological processes, visualizing protein localization, and detecting transgenic expression in vivo.

We offer a series of RFP Invitrogen CellLight fusion constructs of signal peptides or cell structure proteins with tagRFP for accurate and specific targeting to subcellular structures, including the cytoskeleton, mitochondria, and secretory compartments.

To complement these tools, we also offer anti-GFP antibodies and antibody conjugates for a wide variety of applications, including imaging, western blotting, and flow cytometry. Our anti-RFP antibodies are suited for detection of native RFP, RFP variants, and CellLight fusion proteins.

Live-cell imaging of HeLa cells showing endosomes-RFP (red), DNA-Hoechst (blue) and mitochondria-GFP (green), using CellLight reagents

Live-cell imaging of HeLa cells with CellLight reagents using BacMam technology. HeLa cells were transduced with CellLight Early Endosomes-RFP, BacMam 2.0 and CellLight Mitochondria-GFP, BacMam 2.0. Cells were stained with Hoechst 33342 and live-cell imaging was performed using DeltaVision Core microscope and standard DAPI/FITC/TRITC filter sets.

CellLight reagents

CellLight reagents are ready-to-use fluorescent protein constructs targeted to specific subcellular structures. These reagents provide a simple and effective method for introducing targeted intracellular labels within living cells. Simply add the reagent to your cells, incubate overnight, and you’re ready to image your cells.
