Thermo Scientific Molecular Cloning
Molecular cloning, a key component of the molecular biology workflow, is used to assemble recombinant DNA molecules and to direct their replication. In the molecular cloning workflow, the DNA to be cloned is identified and treated with enzymes to generate DNA fragments. These fragments are then combined with vector DNA to generate recombinant DNA molecules.

PCR cloning workflow reagents
An advanced positive-selection system for high-efficiency cloning of PCR products generated with any thermostable DNA polymerase. Ideal for both blunt-end and sticky-end cloning.
Thermo Scientific DH10B, DH5α, and BL21(DE3) competent cells are produced with stringent quality control to enable reliable, consistent performance in cloning workflows. Thermo Scientific DH10B competent cells are also included in the Thermo Scientific CloneJET PCR Cloning Kit and in the Thermo Scientific Phusion Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kit.
Ligation- independent cloning (LIC)
Designed for fast and efficient LIC and tight regulation of gene expression in E. coli. LIC enables high-cloning efficiencies of more than 95% and eliminates the need for restriction enzyme digestion and ligation steps.
DNA ligation and end repair
Allows fast sticky-end or blunt-end DNA ligation, typically in only 5 minutes at room temperature.
Used for blunting and phosphorylation of DNA ends, typically in just 5 minutes, for subsequent use in blunt-end ligation.
